Wrapping Presents

I was wrapping presents the other night, and Wyatt said to me, with a sarcastic tone: “Are you done with your art project yet?”

To which I replied incredulously “It’s not an art project, I’m just wrapping presents.”

And Wyatt said, “No, wrapping presents is sticking it in a brown paper (grocery) bag and twisting the top so they can’t see what’s inside. That’s an art project!”

And there lies the most fundamental difference between Wyatt and I.

Andrea taught me how to use her site!

Today Andrea taught me to use this site and so I figured that I would post a little something about her so that everyone who reads the site will know more and more of the real Andrea. Today, we went to Highland to see grandma and grandpa and to just get out of the house for awhile. Anj asked me to grab the diaper bag in the car while she locked up the house. As I grabbed it, I noticed a carbon copy of a traffic ticket sticking out. I quickly put it in my pocket and we happily drove to Highland. As we drove, I asked Andrea if she had anything she wanted to talk about or tell me, about her day, the kids, just whatever. She never mentioned that she got the ticket, until I pulled it out and she yelled, “oh no, how did you find that?”  Apparently, Anj doesn’t think its a big deal to turn left even though the sign says no left turn. Anyways, my sweet wife is busted and I am still, by default I guess, the best driver in the family. So sorry, sweetie, love ya, Wyatt

My Christmas Present Came Early

This is my first article posted to Andrea’s site. So there I was just working away at the office doing an economic value added analysis for a rental property when the phone rang. Andrea was way excited and told me to listen to Olivia, then whispered in her ear, “I pee-pee in the potty, daddy!” All of a sudden cap rates didn’t mean a thing since for the last two years, I have changed 95% of diapers for both our kids. It just so happened that all I wanted for Christmas was for Olivia to be potty trained. I just know that Santa saw how good I have been all year and decided to bring me Christmas early. Now, Olivia tells us that she needs the potty all the time even when she doesn’t. She does a little dance before she uses it (for obvious reasons) and a little dance of joy after as she munches on her candies for using the potty. I’m hoping that in less than six months, there will be no more diapers for our big girl- that and a new GPS Navigation system for the car!! That’s all I really want for Christmas!
